Children's Medical Center Plano receives $1M donation for expansion

Children's Medical Center Plano (Texas) has received a $1 million donation toward its expansion from Travis Miller, PGA Memes founder, Local Profile reported Oct. 7.

The hospital plans to add a new 395,000-square-foot patient tower with specialty care programs.

"The tower will double the size of the hospital and will increase the total number of available beds from 72 to 212," Brent Christopher, president of Children's Medical Center Foundation, told the publication. "By 2050 we expect three million children in the North Texas area, so we need space for kids and families to rely on support."

In honor of his donation, the Nico and Mila Miller Playroom will be named for Mr. Miller's two youngest children. The playroom will be located in the recently expanded Pauline Allen Gill Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at the hospital.

Construction of the tower began in 2021 and is slated to wrap in 2024.
