CMS officials restored the hospital’s “deemed status,” which means the facility is in compliance with federal standards and is eligible to receive Medicare and Medicaid funding.
The hospital’s status was revoked in July following a Wyoming Department of Health investigation into the discharge of a blind patient to a shelter.
In response to the revoked status, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center revised its discharge policy and improved communication with patients and their families. State health department officials verified the improvements were implemented on Aug. 10.
