As of Feb. 29, 2012, Ms. Mahan and the 309-bed FMH recorded $6.9 million in operating income, which equals a 2.9 percent operating margin and a 9.8 percent operating EBITDA margin. This is now the third straight year of improved operating profitability, which prompted Fitch Ratings to affirm FMH’s BBB+ credit rating and stable financial outlook.
Fitch analysts also credited Ms. Mahan and the management team with solid future capital plans and a “dominant” market share of 72.8 percent. In fiscal year 2011, FMH also had total operating revenue of $351.7 million, which has held steady.
Before joining FMH, Ms. Mahan served as CFO of St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson, Md., and CFO of The Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. — the only exclusive pediatric care provider in the D.C. area.
