The tally represents a slowdown from January to February of this year, when hospital consumer prices rose 0.8 percent. From March 2012 to this past March, hospital consumer prices increased 5.6 percent.
The CPI for hospital inpatient services rose 0.3 percent from February to March and 5.4 percent year-over-year. For outpatient hospital services, consumer price growth mirrored those of total hospital services.
