The hospital lost its Medicare funding due to concerns over patient care. CRH failed to comply with federal regulations during four surveys conducted between Feb. 19, 2014, and March 26, 2014.
The hospital’s lack of proficient nursing care services were at the center of a federal report that cited a case where a patient died in the hospital’s emergency department while waiting for non-medical transport to another facility, according to a Douglas Dispatch report.
Unable to operate without Medicare funds, the hospital closed shortly after 7 p.m. on Friday.
