Ten independent rural hospitals in Wisconsin are forming a clinically integrated network to support value-based care and reduce purchasing costs.
Six things to know:
1. The Wisconsin High Value Network includes hospitals from across the state, from Southwest Health in Platteville to St. Croix Health in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin Public Radio reported.
2. Members — which are creating the network with Cibolo Health, a consultancy that specializes in building rural health collaboratives — serve roughly 400,000 patients across Wisconsin, according to a WHVN Sept. 18 news release.
3. WHVN members will remain independent but collaborate on value-based care arrangements with payers.
4. The network also aims to reduce costs through group purchasing of equipment, clinical software and services.
5. A clinical integration committee, with a provider from each member hospital, will lead the CIN’s efforts.
6. WHVN expects to add more independent rural hospitals as it grows.
