The 21-story, 353-room hotel — called the Intercontinental Houston Medical Center — will utilize the same lobby as a Greystar apartment building being built next door called Latitude Medical Center. The two-in-one hotel and apartment are being developed by Medistar Corp. and TRC Capital Partners.

TexasMedicalCenter anticipates the hotel will house families of long-term patients and the apartment will house medical students and practitioners, according to the report.

Both projects are expected to be completed by the end of 2018.
