Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center to open $230M children’s hospital

Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center is expected to open its $230 million freestanding children’s hospital in Baton Rouge, La., in 2019, according to the American Press.

Construction on the children’s hospital began in February 2016. The 66-acre campus will also include a four-story medical building. It will open with 80 beds with the capacity to expand to 130 beds, according to the report. The hospital could accommodate two additional floors for a total of 210 beds.

Plans include a pediatric emergency room, a trauma room, an area dedicated to mental and behavioral health and an operating room.
