Here are six things to know.
1. The 66-room patient tower will be three stories and include 59,000 square feet of space.
2. It is slated to be built atop Henry Ford Allegiance Health’s heart and vascular center at the hospital, according to the article.
3. The new patient tower won’t expand overall capacity at the hospital, but it will provide more patients with private rooms, the health system said in the report. Once construction is complete, the number of private hospital rooms will be 306.
4. Announcement of the project comes months after Allegiance Health in Jackson, Mich., joined Detroit-based Henry Ford Health System.
5. Total cost of the project is estimated at $45 million.
6. The hospital expects the project to begin in February and to be completed by mid-2018, according to the report.
