The new ER will feature seven patient bays, all of which have walls and doors for increased privacy, and a centralized nursing station. Potsdam, N.Y.-based St. Lawrence Health System, the hospital’s parent organization, donated $2 million to the project while the hospital raised $675,000 from the community.

“It’s not real fancy, but it’s going to make a real difference,” said Brooks Washburn, the architect who designed the ER, according to the Watertown Daily News. “The medical staff has been involved in the design, which was very helpful.”
