Todd Karpinski, PharmD

Todd Karpinski, PharmD, MS, FASHP, FACHE is the System Vice President and Chief Pharmacy Officer with WVU Medicine.  Dr. Karpinski has administrative oversight for pharmacy enterprise services at 25 acute care hospitals totaling over 3000-beds, including J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, a 750 bed Level I trauma center located in Morgantown, West Virginia. Todd has held executive level and administrative roles at both academic and community hospitals and has served in several pharmacy consultant roles.

Dr. Karpinski received his Doctor of Pharmacy from Drake University and Master of Science in Hospital Pharmacy from the University of Kansas.  Dr. Karpinski completed the ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice management residency at Kansas University Hospital.  

Todd has been very active in pharmacy organizations at the national, state and local level.  Dr. Karpinski has recently completed a 3-year elected term on the ASHP Board of Directors.  Over the past 15-years he has served as the Chair for the Section of Pharmacy Practice Managers within ASHP, Chair-Financial Performance Committee within Vizient, member of the Hospital Advisory Group within PSW and winner of the 2013 PSW Pharmacist of the year, and Past-President of ICHP.  Dr. Karpinski has presented nationally on the topics of 340b, transitions of care, medication reconciliation, pharmacy residency expansion and pharmacy revenue enhancement.
