Dr. Marva Williams-Lowe is a transformational healthcare executive with more than 20 years of experience leading system-wide pharmacy operations, clinical innovation, and academic integration. She currently serves as Chief Pharmacy Officer for MUSC Health, where she provides strategic and operational oversight for pharmacy services across a complex, integrated health system. She also serves as System Administrative Officer for the Pharmacy Integrated Center of Clinical Excellence (ICCE) and Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs at the MUSC College of Pharmacy in Charleston, South Carolina.
Dr. Williams-Lowe has a proven track record of advancing pharmacy practice models, strengthening medication safety systems, and implementing technology-enabled infrastructure to improve patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and access to care. Her leadership spans hospital, ambulatory, infusion, retail, and specialty pharmacy settings, with expertise in building high-performing teams and scalable programs across academic medical centers, community hospitals, and critical access facilities.
She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy and Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and a Master of Health Administration from Ohio University. Dr. Williams-Lowe is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and a Certified Pharmacy Executive Leader (CPEL). She was selected for the inaugural Carol Emmott Fellowship for exceptional women leaders in healthcare in 2017.
Her contributions have been recognized with the MUSC Dean Golod Award and the Excellence in Diversity Award from the Student National Pharmaceutical Association.
Dr. Williams-Lowe is an experienced board and governance leader, having served as a board member of the New Hampshire Society of Health-System Pharmacists, a trustee for Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital, and a board member for 340B Health. She has also served as a Community Health Ambassador for Dartmouth-Hitchcock Partners for Community Wellness, helping bridge gaps between healthcare systems and the communities they serve.
