Bonnie Levin, PharmD, MBA, FASHP, is vice president of pharmacy services for MedStar Health, an integrated, not-for-profit health system serving Maryland and the Washington, D.C., region.
In this role, she leads the pharmacy enterprise’s strategy, clinical services, technology and supply chain across MedStar’s network of hospitals, outpatient pharmacies, centralized distribution and IV admixture services, specialty pharmacy, pharmacogenomics and ambulatory care. Her portfolio also includes 340B, revenue integrity pharmacists and telepharmacy. She chairs the system’s enterprise Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and co-chairs its 340B Steering Committee, overseeing a network of pharmacy leaders, clinicians, buyers, informaticists and medication safety pharmacists.
Dr. Levin has spent nearly 20 years with MedStar Health, advancing through pharmacy leadership roles, including corporate director of clinical pharmacy and informatics and assistant vice president of pharmacy services, before being named to her current post. A Baltimore native, she earned her PharmD from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University’s Carey Business School. Dr. Levin is a fellow of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and serves on the Vizient Pharmacy Executive Council, the American Hospital Association’s Pharmacy and Drug Policy Workgroup, the End Drug Shortages Alliance Rapid Response Team and the Notre Dame College of Pharmacy Dean’s Advisory Council.
She has also chaired and served on committees for Vizient and for state and national pharmacy organizations.
