Adam Landman, MD, is senior vice president and chief digital information officer at Brown University Health in Providence, R.I., and a professor of emergency medicine at the university. He focuses on developing and rigorously evaluating digital and AI tools that improve the quality, safety, efficiency and experience of care.
Dr. Landman joined Brown after serving as senior vice president of digital and CIO at Mass General Brigham in Somerville, Mass., and as chief information and digital innovation officer at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, where he also practiced as an emergency physician for more than 15 years.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, N.J. He completed emergency medicine training at Los Angeles-based UCLA Medical Center and a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholars fellowship at Yale University in New Haven, Conn. He also holds graduate degrees in information systems and in healthcare policy and management from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
Dr. Landman’s combination of clinical practice, technical training and policy expertise has made him a prominent figure in health system digital strategy. He has helped lead enterprise digital transformation at two major academic health systems and built a body of research and operational work emphasizing evidence-based adoption of new technologies. He is a frequent contributor to national conversations on digital health and AI in medicine.
