Mr. Janaillac was unable to broker a deal with French workers striking over pay and has been replaced by Air France-KLM CFO Frederic Gagey, who will act as group CEO; Air France CEO Franck Terner; and KLM CEO Pieter Elbers, who will serve as deputy CEO.

The company still is seeking a full-time replacement CEO. Until then, the temporary trio has not been sanctioned by the board to negotiate with the striking Air France workers.
