The hospital says that the Epic system will allow them to more efficiently provide care to patients who have been at other facilities that have an Epic EHR. Burnett Medical Center did warn patients that they may experience delays as staff get accustomed to the new workflow, according to a Nov. 15 Burnett Medical Center news release.
“The conversion to Epic will greatly benefit our patients. We will be able to seamlessly communicate with other Epic facilities, ultimately delivering better patient care no matter where you are,” Burnett CEO Gordy Lewis said in the news release. “Our staff have been diligently training to prepare for this transition. They already love what they see, and they are excited to roll out the benefits to our community.”
