Brian Blaufeux, MD, regional chief medical information officer for Northwell, posted on LinkedIn that the health system is more than halfway through its build phase.

“The process has made us look at almost everything we do and given us opportunities to standardize and improve,” he wrote.

Northwell announced in March that it would switch from an Allscripts EHR system to an Epic one with the first go-live of the new system slated for 2025. The health system aims to eliminate workflow redundancies, provide one integrated EHR system throughout Northwell and reduce administrative burden for clinical and revenue staff with Epic.
