Meditech launches labor, delivery EHR features

Meditech is integrating a prenatal care, delivery and postnatal care solution to its web-based EHR platform Meditech Expanse.

The new EHR features include labor and delivery status boards, which allow nurses to view mother and baby information while receiving real-time notifications of abnormal and critical patient values. The EHR solution also integrates fetal monitoring to allow care providers to access clinical data from both Meditech and other vendor fetal monitoring systems.

"Labor and delivery can be unpredictable, so it's important to have a complete view of the patient and their progression of labor integrated all in one place within the EHR," Meditech Associate Vice President Cathy Turner, RN, said in a news release. "Expanse labor and delivery improves the continuity of care by streamlining workflow — giving valuable time back to nurses to better monitor and safely manage their patients."
