The affiliate, Centennial Computer Corp., provides computer hardware leasing and maintenance services to the U.S. market, and is based in Rockville, Md. Its subsidiary, Centennial MIT, implements and supports Meditech’s electronic patient record solutions in the U.K. and European Union.

Meditech said the acquisition will expand its team of healthcare professionals in the U.K.

In May, Meditech unveiled plans to launch Meditech UK, which will provide sales and service support to hospitals and clinics in the region. Meditech UK will largely focus on marketing the company’s newest EHR, a web-based platform called Expanse.

“The creation of Meditech UK helps to further our goal of bringing Meditech’s transformative solutions to the NHS Trusts, private hospitals and other facilities throughout the region,” said Charlotte Jackson, CEO of Meditech UK.
