Loma Linda University Medical Center achieves HIMSS stage 7

Loma Linda (Calif.) University Medical Center, Children's Hospital, Surgical Hospital and East Campus achieved Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society Analytics stage seven for its inpatient EMR adoption model.

Stage seven is held by only 6.1 percent of U.S. hospitals and is awarded to hospitals that demonstrate how health IT positively impacts patient care.

HIMSS Analytics gave the the health system the stage seven designation during a Nov. 7 survey visit to Loma Linda. The survey team specifically noted Loma Linda University Health's robust use of data, partnership between operations and IT, staff enthusiasm, effective case studies demonstrating the use of data analytics to drive positive change and Transfer Center dashboards and management.
