In 2016, Reliant’s EHR ranked in the 97th percentile nationally for usability, according to a white paper by the Massachusetts Medical Society and Massachusetts Health and Hospital Association.
Reliant has made various changes to its EHR to increase trust between physicians and teams. In turn, there has been a 25 percent reduction in physician in-basket message volume over an 18-month period.
Below are the three steps Reliant took to reduce EHR burnout:
- Establish an EHR team with clinical and technical competencies.
- Automate tasks when possible.
- Assign tasks to a person whose role incorporates those duties.
