Cerner, Salesforce team up to move population health data to the cloud

Cerner is adding Salesforce's health and marketing clouds to its big data platform, HealtheIntent, to support enhanced consumer and provider engagement, the companies announced March 5.

HealtheIntent aggregates data in real-time from multiple sources and creates a single record of patient care across the entire continuum. Salesforce's Health Cloud is a customer relationship management platform that helps organizations collaborate more efficiently and build stronger relationships across the care team.

The integrated solution will incorporate various modes of communication — such as email, text, instant message, video, portal and phone — with care management programs to customize and enhance the value of call centers, practice management and patient financial services to support a personalized consumer experience.

"We are entering the next phase of healthcare delivery transformation. This collaboration with Salesforce will bring game-changing solutions to consumers, allowing them to participate in their physician's decision-making and engage in their own health and care," Cerner President Zane Burke said in a press release. "The power of these combined technologies will support an improved consumer experience and enhanced clinician communication, as well as materially advance the quality of care while reducing the total cost."
