How VillageMD’s new $8.9B healthcare company keeps expanding

VillageMD’s Summit Health opened a new 30,000-square-foot multispeciality healthcare center in New York, continuing its rapid growth.

The Garden City, N.Y., facility has 13 primary care and specialty physicians, as well as onsite imaging and virtual reality to calm patients during radiology exams.

“We’re thrilled to open this new multispecialty hub in Long Island, which provides patients with a network of high-quality, comprehensive services that connects all their potential care needs including primary, specialty and urgent care,” said Christine Masterson, MD, executive vice president and chief of women and children’s services and dermatology at Summit Health, in a an Aug. 8 news release.

VillageMD, which is majority owned by Walgreens, acquired Summit Health in January for $8.9 billion. VillageMD now has more than 20,000 employees and 700 practices across 26 markets.
