CEO of Optum’s payment integrity to retire

Cheryl Knaut, CEO of Optum’s payment integrity, said she plans to retire at the beginning of October.

Ms. Knaut posted on her LinkedIn stating, “I have had an amazing career with fantastic roles with some of the greatest companies. As I look back on my career I have truly been blessed by the support of so many who have shaped the leader that I have become.”

Ms. Knaut started at Optum in 2016 as senior vice president of payment integrity operations and became CEO in 2020. 

Her departure comes as at least 12 top executives at Optum have announced retirements or left the company.
