Amazon Pharmacy is rolling out new features aimed at easing the burden of medication management, particularly for caregivers and older adults with complex prescriptions.

In a June 3 press release, Amazon announced that its digital pharmacy platform now allows verified family members or trusted individuals to manage medications for loved ones through their own Amazon accounts.

Amazon Pharmacy is also expanding access to its PillPack service for Medicare Part D beneficiaries. PillPack delivers pre-sorted, date- and time-labeled packets of medication in monthly shipments — a solution designed for patients managing multiple prescriptions. The service is now available to more than 50 million Medicare enrollees, who can use their insurance to cover the cost.
