Intellihartx, which disclosed that it was affected by a third-party data breach involving a file transfer software called GoAnywhere from third-party vendor Fortra on June 9, contacted UPMC stating that some of their patients’ information may have been caught up in the breach.

Wendy Zellner, a spokesperson for UPMC, told the publication “there is no evidence that UPMC patient data has been misused and ITx is notifying those affected and providing free credit monitoring services.”

Intellihartx disclosed that 489,830 patients were affected by a third-party data breach. It is unknown how many of those affected are from UPMC.
