Google announced it plans to take action against content circulating online that makes unproven claims or contradicts reputable scientific sources. The company will take down all ads that promote COVID-19 conspiracy theories and will ban the use of its ad platform entirely for websites that have a volume of violating ads that surpass a certain threshold.

Google will also prohibit publishers from using its ad platform to display ads next to text or video content that promotes COVID-19 conspiracies.
