Gale Mroczkowski filed the lawsuit Oct. 12 in Emmet County Circuit Court. The suit claims that in Feb. 2006, Mr. Mroczkowski entered into a five-year contract with the health system. As part of his contract, Mr. Mroczkowski would be covered at no cost to him by a separate term life insurance policy totaling $1 million. If he died, the face value of the policy would be paid to his designated beneficiary.
According to the report, the hospital system never obtained the promised insurance coverage and now refuses to pay. The hospital said the complaint will be handled through the court system. No court dates have been set at this time.
