In 2011, Ms. Farber’s salary and cash compensation totaled more than $936,000, making her the second-highest paid government employee in California, since her hospital is public-owned. Including deferred compensation and retirement, she made more than $1.15 million.
The consultant said her pay is roughly $119,000 shy of the 65th percentile, which the hospital district reportedly uses to pay its CEO, according to the report. In February, Ms. Farber received $162,000 in incentives and bonuses after the hospital cut roughly 200 jobs, most of which were vacant.
