Rhode Island’s South County Hospital Cuts Positions and Administrator Pay

South County Hospital in Wakefield, R.I., laid off 20 employees and reduced the salaries of the hospital’s top seven administrators by 5 percent, according to a report by The Providence Journal.

The hospital experienced a $2 million budget shortfall in its first fiscal quarter of the year.

The cuts are expected to save $3 million.
