The 10-hospital system is also offering sign-on bonuses — which depend on experience and the location of the position — to behavioral health providers, respiratory therapists, radiology and computed tomography technologists and physical therapists.
“It’s not a secret that staffing has been a challenge. We look at the greatest needs for positions and what’s going on in the market,” Catharine MacLaren, vice president of talent and diversity at Northern Light, told the publication. “Those are the two biggest factors.”
Another big health system in the state, Portland-based MaineHealth, offers sign-on bonuses ranging from $3,000 to $20,000 at its facilities, according to the report. Nursing bonuses range from $10,000 to $20,000 depending on experience.
