3. The median value of funds, including pledges, compared with each dollar expended for all types of healthcare institutions, was $3.19 — a decline from years past, and well below the high of FY 2004 of $4.22.
4. Academic institutions produced the highest return.
5. The median cost to raise a dollar for all institutions dropped by $0.31 in FY 2009, from $0.34 in FY 2008.
