Munson Healthcare Execs Received Nearly $550K in Bonuses

Munson Healthcare distributed more than $547,000 in bonuses and incentive pay to 10 top administrators in 2008, raising the group’s total compensation to $3.6 million for the year, according to a Traverse City Record-Eagle report.

Doug Deck, former Munson CEO, took home a $178,000 bonus, a base salary of $502,000 and an additional $226,000 in deferred compensation, supplemental executive retirement plans and other benefits. His total compensation was around $900,000, a 24 percent raise over the previous year.

Munson Medical Center’s then-president Ed Ness collected a $95,000 bonus as part of a total compensation package worth more than $580,000. He replaced Mr. Deck as Munson Healthcare’s CEO in April 2010, following Mr. Deck’s resignation.
