Various hospitals across the country are doling out pay raises to staff members, even as some still struggle financially, according to reports.

Erlanger Health System has suggested $4 million in raises for the system’s 4,200 employees, giving a 2 percent pay increase across the board, according to a Times Free Press report. The raise still needs approval from hospital trustees and follows $3.5 million in raises to 1,100 beside nurses implemented in July.

The across-the-board raise at Erlanger excludes 17 executive-level managers, from the vice president level up, according to the report.

Houston Healthcare’s more than 2,000 employees will be eligible for merit pay raises of up to 2 percent, following approval by the system’s board of directors. Around $1.8 million has been budgeted for raises, according to a Warner Robins Patriot report.

WakeMed, a hospital system based in Raleigh, N.C., will distribute $7.65 million in bonuses to most of its 7,000-plus employees after exceeding annual financial goals. Checks worth about 2 percent of employees’ yearly salaries will go out on Dec. 3.
