El Camino Hospital Freezes Executive Salaries Following $7.91M Loss This Year

El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, Calif., has decided to freeze its executive's salaries following $7.91 million in losses so far this year, according to Mercury News report.

The compensation committee of the hospital's board of directors voted to forego raises for all executives in fiscal year 2010-11. Last year, executives received an average raise of 4.7 percent.

As of May, employee wages were $6.7 million over budget and the hospital had $8.7 million in services provided but not paid for.

Ken Graham, president and CEO, makes an annual salary of $632,640. Chief medical officer Eric Pifer, MD, earns $431,250; Cal James, chief of strategy and business development, earns $329,600; chief information officer Greg Walton earns $294,320.
