Dr. John Lucas of Wyoming’s Cheyenne Regional Receives $430k Salary

The board of trustees at Cheyenne (Wyo.) Regional Medical Center ratified a new three-year contract for CEO John Lucas, MD, which includes an annual salary of $430,000, according to a Wyoming Tribune Eagle report.

Dr. Lucas could earn an additional $86,000 to $100,000 if he meets incentive goals established by the board of trustees, according to the report.

Comparatively, compensation figures for other nearby regional hospital CEOs are the following:

•    Vickie Diamond, CEO of Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, made $429,949 in 2009.
•    Nicholas Wolter, MD, CEO of Billings (Mont.) Clinic, earned roughly $1.2 million in 2008.
•    Kevin Unger, president and CEO of Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colo., made $570,000 in 2009.
