Mr. Duggan, who previously was the Wayne Country prosecutor, said he would meet with Detroit residents over the next three months to see if will actually run for mayor. He told the Detroit News he would have to raise roughly $5 million to consider a full campaign.
“I feel like this is my city,” Mr. Duggan said in the report. “I was born here. I’ve worked here for the last 30 years. And I just think it’s too great a city to let it go down the way it’s going down.”
Mr. Duggan joined DMC as CEO in January 2004. DMC became part of Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanguard Health Systems in late 2010.
