AORN’s salary survey included more than 2,600 full-time staff nurses, nurse managers, vice presidents of nursing, directors of nursing and clinical nurse specialists, among others. Other results from the survey include the following:
• The average vice president/director/assistant director of nursing makes $107,600, roughly $4,700 more than in 2010.
• Salaries of nurses in university or academic ambulatory surgery centers were the highest of any facility group, although there was a small sample size.
• Nurses generally receive higher compensation in larger facilities and hospitals.
