20 Chicago-Area Hospital CEOs Made at Least $1M Last Year

Twenty CEOs of Chicago-based hospitals and health systems made at least $1 million in total compensation in 2011, making Chicagoland hospital executives among the highest-paid in the nation, according to a Crain Chicago’s Business report.

Northwestern Memorial HealthCare CEO Dean Harrison earned the most of any Chicago-area hospital executive in 2011 with $4.6 million in total compensation. That total is less than half of what he earned in 2010.

The next four highest-paid hospital CEOs in the area were:

•    James Skogsbergh, Advocate Health Care (Oak Brook, Ill.): $4 million
•    Pamela Davis, Edward Hospital & Health Services (Naperville, Ill.): $2.1 million
•    Mark Neaman, NorthShore University HealthSystem (Evanston, Ill.): $2.1 million
•    Alan Channing, Sinai Health System (Chicago): $2 million
