Richard J. Gilfillan, MD. President and CEO of Trinity Health (Livonia, Mich.). Dr. Gilfillan, who started his career as a family medicine physician, now oversees Trinity Health, a $15.8 billion system touching 21 states. He has more than 25 years of healthcare leadership experience. Dr. Gilfillan was the first director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation. He also previously was the president and CEO of Geisinger Health Plan and executive vice president of insurance operations for Geisinger Health System. In addition to a medical degree from Georgetown University, Dr. Gilfillan has an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
