Hartford Hospital in Connecticut Expands Busy ED

Hartford (Conn.) Hospital has completed its approximately $16 million emergency department addition to keep up with increasing ED visits, according to a Hartford Courant report.

The 20,000-square-foot expansion, called the “Orange Pod,” added 23 rooms to the ED, bringing the total to 57. The hospital’s ED has more than 100,000 annual visits.
