University of Chicago Completes $700M Medical Center

The University of Chicago announced the completion of its $700 million Center for Care and Discovery.

The 1.2 million-square-foot center is dedicated to specialty care in areas such as cancer, gastrointestinal disease and neuroscience. It includes 240 private patient rooms, 21 operating rooms and 52 intensive care bed units.

The center will open to patients on Feb. 23.
