The 35,355-square-foot center will include 25 patient rooms, two treatment rooms, six triage beds, X-ray, ultrasound, MRI, fluoroscopy and laboratory services. Construction of the center is expected to be completed by November and represents the first phase of a three-phase project that will also include a medical office building. The entire project is scheduled to be completed within 25 years, under an agreement between the hospital and Avondale.
The new center is designed to accommodate a growing pediatric population. The number of children in the West Valley, which includes Avondale, is estimated to grow from approximately 1 million today to 1.5 million by 2030.
