PACKids was formed in 2011 and recently launched an educational campaign to inform the community about its vision of a dedicated children’s hospital that will serve central Virginia.
The group is looking to form a partnership with Richmond-based Virginia Commonwealth University Health System and the community to develop the children’s hospital. Virginia Health Information reported VCU treated 40 percent of the region’s child inpatients — the majority of the region’s inpatient pediatric cases, according to the report.
