Beavercreek, Ohio-based Soin Medical Center, part of Kettering (Ohio) Health, will no longer operate as a level 3 trauma center, effective April 13.

The decision was made as Kettering Health continues to evaluate its care sites with the intention of improving care processes for patients, a spokesperson for Kettering Health said in a statement shared with Becker’s.

“We will continue to utilize our clinical pathways to treat nearly all conditions and we will help our community’s highest acuity patients get to the level 1 or level 2 trauma program that best meets their needs in a streamlined way,” the statement said.

The hospital’s emergency department will continue to operate and provide care to patients amid the change.

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
