New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health’s Katz Institute for Women’s Health has opened a menopause and midlife health center.
The Northwell Health Physician Partners Center for Menopause and Midlife Health, based in Stony Brook, N.Y., is a 3,000-square-foot multidisciplinary facility with seven exam rooms designed to address the physical, emotional and hormonal changes associated with menopause and midlife. The practice “reflects a $307,000 investment,” according to a March 12 system news release.
It houses comprehensive, coordinated care in gynecology, urogynecology, gynecologic oncology, cardiology, endocrinology, behavioral health, rehabilitation and rheumatology. Patients will receive personalized evaluations, evidence-based treatment and ongoing support to improve their long-term health, the release said.
“The opening of this practice underscores our focus on addressing a critical gap in women’s health,” Kerri Scanlon, RN, executive vice president of ambulatory services for Northwell’s eastern region market, said in the release. “By dedicating a center exclusively to menopause and midlife care, we are elevating awareness, expanding clinical expertise, and ensuring women have access to the specialized support they need at this pivotal stage of life.”
