Michigan ER physicians launch urgent care

Physicians specializing in emergency medicine launched the Urgent Care of Milford (Mich.) to treat patients with afflictions from minor illnesses to broken bones, according to hometownlife.com.

Mark Wilkerson, MD, DO, one of the partners in the urgent care, works full time in Flint, Mich.-based Hurley Medical Center’s emergency room. Nusrat Javaid, MD, urgent care co-founder, also works in the Hurley ER and has experience in pediatric emergency care and primary care medicine.

The urgent care offers digital X-ray, blood draws, free blood pressure and blood sugar screening, treatment for minor illnesses and infections, minor injuries, fractures, lacerations and cuts, minor burns and preventative checkups and immunizations.

Urgent Care of Milford is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day and does not require appointments. The facility accepts insurance, cash and major credit cards.
