Mercy, Tyler Memorial Hospital Consider Merger

Mercy Health Partners and Tyler Memorial Hospital in Tunkhannock, Pa., are considering a merger, according to a report in the Wilkes-Barre Citizens Voice.

A merger between the two systems would mean more efficient use of resources and better care at both institutions at a time when financial resources are limited, according to the report.

According to officials at both hospitals, the collaboration would help the hospitals to maximize limited resources in a difficult time when hospitals face declining reimbursements and limited capital funds.
