Massachusetts’s Saint Anne’s Breaks Ground on New Surgery Center, Emergency Department

Caritas Christi’s Saint Anne’s Hospital in Fall River, Mass., broke ground on a new surgery center and expanded emergency department, according to a report by the New England Business Bulletin.

The $19.6 million project is the first of seven improvement projects totaling $100 million planned by Boston-based Caritas Christi. The project will double the capacity of Saint Anne’s ED and will add six operating rooms, six post-anesthesia care areas and a private pediatric recovery room, according to the report  

Both the ED and the surgery center are expected to be completed by mid-2011.
