The hospital, which replaced an older facility in 2010, tripled the space of the previous hospital’s ED. The increase in space, equipment, nurses and physicians have helped the hospital reduce waiting time to between 45 minutes to an hour. Steven Dronen, MD, medical director of the ED, aims to further reduce the waiting time to 30 minutes, according to the report.
Approximately 145 patients enter the hospital’s ED daily compared with 135 in the previous ED.
